The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, organised a Painting Competition under the "Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan" to promote awareness against drug abuse. The event, themed "Say No to Drugs," encouraged participants to express their creativity in support of a drug-free society. It was held on 23rd May 2025 at 02:00 PM in the front lawn of the NSS, University of Kashmir.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) of the University of Kashmir has organized an awareness programme titled "Gender Justice: Know Your Rights" at Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School, Rainawari, Srinagar. As part of the Legal Literacy Initiative, the event focuses on educating participants about the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, aiming to empower women and promote safer, more just work environments.

On the occasion of world earth day. NSS university of Kashmir in collaboration with NLCO, Department of forest UT of JK ,Srinagar Munciple corporation and many org. organized a comprehensive plantation drive at Khimber area of srinagar. The event saw the collaboration of around 20 organizations and government department. NSS volunteers of the university of Kashmir actively participates in the event.The event saw an active participation of locals as well.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, organized a one-day awareness camp on Reproductive Health and Menstrual Hygiene at Pazalpora, Shalimar, Srinagar. Aimed at educating women—particularly adolescent girls—about menstrual hygiene and reproductive health, the initiative promoted open dialogue, dispelled myths, and encouraged the safe use of sanitary products.

he National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, organized a Cleanliness Drive on 17 March 2025 at Naseem Bagh, University of Kashmir. Volunteers actively participated in the initiative to promote environmental awareness and maintain the campus’s natural beauty.

The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament embodies the vision articulated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2017, when he called for the emergence of one lakh young leaders to take India forward. This year’s Youth Parliament has been reimagined and expanded, aligning with the Viksit Bharat@2047 vision to prepare a new generation of dynamic, solution-oriented, and policy-aware youth leaders.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, successfully organized Yuva Samwad on 12 March 2025. The programme aimed at engaging youth in meaningful dialogue on national development and social responsibility. The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the pivotal role of young people in nation-building.

A State Level Pre Republic-Day Trail selection Camp was held at University of Kashmir for female NSS volunteers of Kashmir Division. Regional Director Mr. Shrawan Kumar and other officials of the Regional Directorate participated in the camp. A total of 200 female volunteers participated in the selection camp out of which six volunteers were selected.

1st One Day Camp Session on Human Rights for 50 NSS volunteers was held on 17th of March, 2021 in Ibn Khaldun Auditorium of Allama Ibqal Library, University of Kashmir

The office of the Program Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir held a Road Safety Awareness cum Signature Campaign to observe the Road Safety Month from 17th January to 16th February, 2021 as notified by Ministry of Ministry of Transport and Highways, Government of India. The drive was undertaken in collaboration with Traffic Police Kashmir in the first week of February 2021.

The National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir organized Two-Day Workshop on Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation on 18th-19th February 2020 in collaboration with Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS), Kashmir and Youth Development and Rehabilitation Centre (YDRC), Kashmir. More than 250 NSS volunteers from various colleges of Kashmir and various departments of University of Kashmir, participated in the two-day program.

A day-long workshop-cum-seminar on Swachhta, which included talks and competitions on Swachhta, and sponsored by Regional Directorate of NSS, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India was organized at Ibn Khaldun Auditorium of University of Kashmir. 175 participants from eight degree colleges and KU departments participated in various activities during the Swachhta workshop-cum-seminar.

A day-long plantation drive was organized by the National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir in collaboration with the University Landscape Division (ULD) on 5th of April, 2021.

One-Day Blood Donation camp was held by National Service Scheme (NSS) in 21st of November, 2019 in collaboration with SKIMS Medical College and Kashmir University Health Centre. Around 55 Pints of Blood were donated by NSS volunteers and teaching and non-teaching staff of the University.
