Lecture on Greeting Expressions in Indian Languages - Azadi ka Amrut Mahautsav India@75



The Office of Program Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir organized an online lecture of “Greeting Expressions in Indian Languages” on 13-08-2021 as part of the AZADA KA AMRUT MAHOTSAV celebrations. The lecture   was conducted   for  NSS volunteers of various units of UT of Jammu and Kashmir. The resource person for the lecture was Dr. Javaid Aziz Bhat from the department of linguistics University of Kashmir.

Dr.Javaid Aziz Bhat  while providing a brief introduction about the various languages spoken in our country also  reflected upon the importance of learning new languages towards developing social harmony. The speaker also discussed the constitutional aspect of various languages spoken in our country. While discussing the linguistic diversity of our country, it was impressed by the speaker that greeting expressions have both religious and cultural value. He emphasized on the importance of learning greeting expressions in order to develop more meaningful social interactions and networks. The lecture was followed by a brief question answer session in which participants participated enthusiastically. The event was presided over by Dr.Musavir Ahmad, Programme Coordinator NSS University of Kashmir and was moderated by Dr. Wakar Amin, Programme Officer NSS, University of Kashmir.

Other Programme officers of NSS viz,Dr.Yasir Hamid, Dr.Shazia and Dr.Heena also participated in the event.
